Wire Rope Trellis System 4050

Basic trellis form for the framing of wall openings, especially for house entrances with narrow border areas... often for the linear training of climbing plants and grapevines (see below). If you have enough space, basic form 4060 is usually a better choice. For windows, basic form 5020 is preferable. Please also refer to the guidelines in our section on climbing plants for support in choosing a suitable construction style (see charts at the bottom of each plant profile).

Our pre-assembled kits are suitable for all wall types with the exception of walls with external insulation, cladding, and thin-walled concrete elements. Alternatives can be put together in all cases.

Height x Width: up to 3 m x 3 m (4.4 m x 3.6 m with Heavy / Massive Kits), inter-supports (mounts) on the vertical wire ropes can be moved slightly upwards "golden ratio- see diagram) to emphasise the striving nature of the climbing plants. Base point: ~ 0.3 - 1.2 m above the ground. With more mounts, the basic form can be expanded as desired; in this case, provide floating mounts every 1.5 - 1.8 m or so.

Installation: as shown in the diagrams; please also refer to the mounting tips in chart above (click on a kit for details). With a medium 'classic' kit, observe the instructions for special case 01.

Vine Training: see diagrams. For garlands up to ~50 cm below the top edge of climbing field (R 01). Higher training and bending of the stems also possible (R 02/03).
