Wire Rope Trellis System 4040

Basic form for supporting light to medium-strong twiners, also for grapevines (see below). This basic form is the result of arranging parallel vertical wire ropes connected with short horizontal wire rope rungs. Please refer to the guidelines in our climbing plants section for support in choosing a construction style (see charts at the bottom of each plant profile). Variations: this system can be an inexpensive alternative to system 5030 when arranged as a square.

Our pre-assembled kits are suitable for all wall types with the exception of walls with external insulation, cladding, and thin-walled concrete elements. Alternatives can be put together in all cases.

Variations: With additional rope, mounts, etc., the basic form can be enlarged as desired. Provide anchors (mounts) every 1.5 m (2.2 m) or a tier of two holders and two floating cross clamps. Please note the characteristics of higher greening, also lightning protection; if necessary, contact us with questions. If the system is extended considerably wider, the cross clamps may have to be replaced with wall mounts (analogous to system 5030). In public areas, you may want to leave out the lowest horizontal rope to prevent people from climbing (ladder effect). And, of course, this system can be installed horizontally -- analogous to the 8010.

Installation: as shown in the diagrams; refer to the mounting tips in chart above (click on a kit for details).

Vine Training: see diagrams. For cordons especially with short cut-- curved / wavy stem guidance and attachment of the green shoots on the two edge ropes (R 01), or also with long cut and attaching of the bent fruit stems / spurs on the edge ropes. Also: two stems parallel from a vine (R 02) or as separate plants in a planting pit (R 03). Lead stems only up to about 50 cm below the upper edge of the climbing field.
