This simple, universal basic trellis form, is often used for the flanking of downspouts (drainpipes), and when several are used, they can be combined side by side to form parallel green "strands." By rotating this system 90°, you get a system similar to 1060. To select a suitable construction, please view the guidelines in the Climbing Plants section.

Shoot Training/Vine Guidance: See diagrams. For a simple garland (R 01), whereby the high growth can result in the lower part of the plant carrying less foliage. Therefore it is better to plant 2 vines (of different varieties) in one hole (quiver planting) and then guide 2 offset/staggered vertical cordons (R 02), by which one vine is planted to green the lower half of the system and the other, to green the upper half. Even better are two parallel stems from separate planting pits (R 03).
