Wire Rope Trellis System 9010

Assembly sketch for wire rope system no. 9010

Under the 9010, previous designs come together: several basic forms are connected at the top with a transverse cable line projecting from both sides ("pi" shape). A lower connection is not provided for here. Such an arrangement can frame one or several wall openings; it is irrelevant how many fields are connected. While not offered as a kit itself, we classify the 9010 as a 'cable system' in order to provide an exemplary construction manual for such arrangements. For support in choosing a suitable construction size/style, refer to our section on climbing plants (charts at the bottom of each plant profile).

Dimensions: Usually these are longer areas of a ground floor with only a narrow wall strip above the windows. The arrangement of the cables between windows, etc.. is initially implemented according to the intended planting as single "basic forms," and are treated in accordance with the overview. The distance between the cables, the number of intermediate supports (mounts), etc.. must be planned accordingly. Use system 9010 if the planned upper horizontal cable juts out to the left and right, no matter how far. If the horizontal rope sections are longer than 1.5 m, inter-supports are to be set-- from the 3rd and 7th holding points in the horizontal row (as shown here), for example. The same applies for the vertical ropes, where additional rope bridges may have to be provided. If, on the other hand, the horizontal rope is to be flush with the last vertical ropes, you will find suitable building instructions under basic form 9020. If a lower connection is also planned, you can find information under 9030.

Installation: as shown in the diagrams; please also refer to the mounting tips (in chart above). The mounting sequence is applicable to both similar and different arrangements. Basically, all exterior and long cable sections are first laid, followed by the vertical sections and all shorter and more interior sections.

Required Parts:

you can assemble LightMediumHeavy and Massive Kits together. Easy Kits are possible, but the rope guide and arrangement of the cable clamps can be a bit complicated. When selecting your kit, please also refer to the tips under climbing plants and anchors/mounts. Depending on the style/kit, you'll need the following:

  • wire-rope 1.8 or 3 or 4 mm

  • cross mount and rawl plug (dowel)

  • (free-floating) cross clamps

  • end hulls or sleeves

  • tools und binding material (possibly)
