Here you will find information about fasteners for wire ropes. This includes: rope clamps, thimble eyes (thimbles), clamps, rings, and other accessories. FassadenGrün helps you to plan mounting systems with a healthy minimalism. For example, the ready made kits do not use tension and joint elements and instead prefer a tightening by hand. Here you can find out when the use of certain accessories makes sense. Information on the individual items can then be found on the product sheets.>>> Price list
Rope clamps are robust, but very simple components; they are not usually used in fine architectural cables. FassadenGrün uses cable clamps in the 'easy design'. Simple, low-cost Simplex terminals are recommended for 2 mm steel cable. With 3 (and 4 mm) rope, more classic 'steel rope clamps' are used, which generate high clamping forces with minimal installation effort and cost. In pre-assembled kits, they are already included. The decorative egg formed clamps are interesting for their playground use; because of the rounded form, there is no injury danger here. They require, however, an additional rope tensioning device or turnbuckle because with them, the two rope strands cannot be tightened against each other. The additional use of thimbles at 3 and 4 mm of rope is functional and aesthetically pleasing, but not essential. Before the installation, the small thimble eyes must be opened on eyelet bolts, and for an extra charge; however, you can purchase open thimble eyes at FassadenGrün.
From remainders or upon request (at larger quantities), you can also receive, as an alternative to cable clamps, inexpensive press sleeves (similar to Nicopress) for 3 and 4 mm. These fastening systems, however, require special pliers and are not detachable.
Tension and joint elements are almost always omitted by FassadenGrün; instead we favour a tightening of the cables by hand. In exceptional cases, such as when cable systems like 0040 and 0010 (sometimes also 0050) or generally when very long cables are spanned, a tensioner is useful. They are screwed far apart before assembly, then installed with the assistance of the cable clamps, and are tightened afterwards.
Our assortment has 2 different types. These are both usable for 3 mm and 4 mm ropes. SP 05160 is an inexpensive cable tensioner; the turnbuckle SP 05130 is then more typical, and the tightened state can here be fixed permanently by a lock nut; loosening of the rope tension through movements by wind, etc., is then impossible. SP 08280 is suitable for particularly heavy applications. The GS wire tensioner SP 03000 is used rather for re-tensioning of already mounted cables up to 3 mm in diameter.
Springs SF 02530 are recommended only in exceptional cases, e.g. if it is already foreseeable at a dowelling in the front-end that the required holding values regarding the transverse forces (approx. 250 kg at 3 mm of cable) are not available. This can be the case with very loose, soft masonry, as well as with clay building-materials. Additional cable clamps (grips) are provided for the mounting.
