Small distance holder or 'cross mount,' made of stainless steel, smooth shank M6, cross head d=10 mm with grub screw, hex flange nut, curved (convex) washer, d inside = 6.0 mm, with laminated gasket (seal), special wall plugs (dowels) 48.5 mm long. Use

For 1.8 mm (2.0 mm) cable, standard holder for Light Kits (and small/lightweight plants) according to the specifications of the respective cable system. The distance from holder to holder should ideally not exceed 1.5 m. Simple or crosswise cable guidance. Can be used with almost all wall types; please check suitability via the link. Also suitable for panel building materials with a material thickness of at least 40 mm; for thinner plates, see below. Wall clearance 5 cm. Please also refer to the section on cross mounts for assistance in selecting suitable cable holders.

 

Recommended tool

For accurate dowel holes (8 mm): hammer drill HB 44444. Alternatively, for impact drilling: concrete drill, inexpensive masonry drill, or universal drill; selection also depends on wall type.

 

Installation

If necessary, please refer to the information on drilling work and for using the enclosed special plug (dowel) for metric threads; exceptions: see below. For a good seal, the surface should be reasonably level and flat or made so (sanded down). For joint installation, see below. Drill hole (d = 8 mm, approx. 5 cm deep) is brushed or blown out well (figure 05), and if necessary (on light walls), the drilling dust is simultaneously vacuumed off. In solid wood without plugs (dowels): pilot-drill (pre-drill) approx. 4 mm,  front 5 mm. Do not use worn drills! With very hard surfaces, such as concrete and masonry (brick), you can widen the hole slightly in the front third by: holding the drill bit against the wall of the hole and turning it slightly, tilting it at the same time. Then also break the outer edge of the drill hole with a larger drill bit at the front. Insert the rawl plug and lightly hammer it in (figure 06); the four small white collar plates must come as close to the wall as possible (figure 07). Then loosen grub screws and grease the shaft of the cross mount slightly; insert it into the rawl plug, press firmly and screw in under pressure first 2 - 3 turns until the mount 'grips' into (engages) the plug. Then grasp the mount on the hex nut with a wrench and screw it deeper into the rawl plug (fig. 08) until the seal is larger in diameter than the stainless steel washer (fig. 09). Installation continues as described for Light Kits.

 

Special Features

Also suitable for installation into wall joints, but then without thrust washer/gasket (photo 04). Remove the tightly-fitting washer. Turn the washer several turns upwards in the direction of the flange nut in order to enlarge the sealing hole; then turn in the other direction or, if possible, remove it. For special and wooden facades, please refer to the linked instructions. Use a bolt set in the case of through hole fastening. For thin-walled concrete garages, rawl plugs (anchors/dowels) can be shortened 3-5 mm at the end by cutting off (rose shears) or sawing off (hacksaw); the threaded shaft engages only 42 mm into the rawl plug.
