Application
Special mount for increased wall distance of 8 cm, sometimes used in conjunction with WH 10180. With 1.8 mm cable, use in accordance with the specifications of the respective cable system (if purchased as a pre-assembled set) for light kits.
Conditionally suitable for 3 mm steel cable; due to the longer overhang, it is less stable and has significantly higher deflection (loads) than with WH 10151. The mount is only suitable for medium "classic" kits if the distance from mount to mount is reduced to approx. 0.6 - 1.0 m instead of 1.5 m. There are exceptions for low cable systems up to a height of 2 m, which are planted with slow-growing plants, such as annuals, clematis, grapevines and roses. The mount is completely analogous to WH 10151, i.e. can be used as with medium classic kits. Simple or crosswise cable guidance possible. Particularly suitable for hollow (aerated) bricks and compatible with many wall types (please check the link for suitability). Suitable in slab/panel construction materials only if anchoring in substructure is possible and total material thickness is at least 60 mm. For support in choosing a trellis fitting, refer to our section on cable (cross) mount.
Recommended Tools
For precisely fitting plug holes (12 mm): Hammer drill HB 44444. Alternatively: concrete drill, inexpensive masonry drill or universal drill bits; selection also depends on wall types.
Mounting
If necessary, please refer to our instruction manual on drilling. Usually mounted with long plug DL 12090 (see link in 1st paragraph). Grease the shaft a little. Drill a 12 mm hole, approx. 10 cm deep. For panel/slab building-materials with rawl plug DH 12075; in solid wood without plugs (pre-drill approx. 8 mm, in front 9 mm). For optimal sealing, the surface should be reasonably level or made so (sanded down). Loosen grub screw, grasp flange nut with a 15 mm open-ended wrench, and turn (screw in). Further assembly then carried out as described for medium kits.
Special Features
If you order a medium "classic" kit instead of single components and would like the mount WH 10181 instead of WH 10151, please write a message in the "Comments" field at Checkout, and we will then deliver WH 10181 to you without surcharge.
