Purple Bell Vine

Climbing plant native to Mexico with an overhanging habit, appreciated as a hanging basket plant since 1900. Also very suitable for trellises and climbing aids! The dark flower tube falls off soon after opening, but the many billowing "rose skirts" stay on the plants for many weeks. Leaves are heart-shaped. The plant is just as suitable for the garden, balcony, and terrace as it is for conservatories and indoor spaces, where it may even be perennial. Purple bell vine needs a sunny and warm location as well as regular watering and some fertilising.
