This is the classic form of vertical greening: the plants are in contact with the soil and grow upwards from the ground. Alternatively, they may grow from a ground-level planter. Such greening schemes usually do not require automatic watering and are a relatively inexpensive solution. However, patience is key, as it can sometimes take years to achieve the desired result.
