This heavy concrete noise barrier, which at 6 metres is unusually tall, was supplied by “Heinrich Bös GmbH & Co. KG”. To make it more pleasing to the eye for residents of the surrounding villages, it was to be greened. This was also linked to the hope of compensating for previous interventions in the local ecosystem. The wire ropes initially serve as a “trellis”, but also as fall protection. The choice of plants proved to be extremely successful, and the greening objective was achieved. A “green” noise barrier has been created!
