Pruning Grapevines

Grapevines need pruning, both in the vineyard and at home. The ways of pruning a grapevine are as numerous as the regions they come from, and the art of it can seem a bit overwhelming at first. Luckily, the grapevine is a very flexible and easily manipulated plant; the most common mistake people make is that they don't prune enough! Anyone who observes his/her vine over the years will get to know quite quickly which pruning technique the vine responds to best. This section provides you with comprehensive information on this topic, while the training of grapevines is described in a separate section.
