Fixation cylinder in the insulation panels

This page describes solutions for fixing equipment such as wire rope trellises for climbing plants on façades with ETICS (external thermal insulation composite systems). This solution should be carried out by professionals only, and works only for insulation panels that are 10 - 24 (30) thick. After the panels are in place, segments will be cut out and replaced with hard cylinders that will bear the weight of the steel fixing rods.

Maximal weight and price

Heavy equipments can be fixed on an insulated façade with supporting bodies, and the maximal charge is the same as with our Heavy range of trellises. Vigorous twining climbers such as a wisteria, knotweed or bittersweet must receive special attention - see below. The maximal wall distance is about 6 - 7 cm and up to 10 cm with our XP 12XX5 fixings. The price is oriented on the fixings from the "Heavy" range. Fixings with thermal separators are available: XP 12XX5.

Suitable fixings

The fixings XP 12XX3 and XP 12XX5 with thermal separation and better wall distance are available - both can be used for wood or metal grids and trellises.

Mounting and plant care

This solution should only be installed by professionals. Supporting bodies and fixings should be installed by the same contractors that will install the ETICS insulation. Please read the information on Installation and use the recommended tools.

The climbing plants must be pruned regularly to reduce the weight of dead wood in the plant. The branches must be cut so they can't scratch or pierce the external plaster of the insulation. Strong twinters such as the wisteria require special care.
