Facade Slabs

Large-format, light-weight 'facade slabs' are the sixth of nine thin-walled cover, which are considered under 'Special Facades' - (for heavy slabs of concrete, see 'Weather Shells'). On this page, such light facade cladding is illuminated, and examples are shown of which of the eight attachment variants, which are also shown in 'special facades', are suitable here. The site is designed to help you find suitable wire rope technology for your situation.  Structural damage can occur with certain climbing plants as they grow into the joints of a facade cladding.

Properties of Façade Slabs

The panels and large façade slabs are modern building materials; there are virtually no historical models. They may consist of glued wood, but also of plywood, wood chips, wood fibers, fiber cement, and the like. These panels are often coated with lacquer or even covered with fabric and plastered. Frequently, these are also 'ventilated, ventilated façades'. We recommend the UB 77777. drill cartridge for subsequent attachments.

Variants for attachment of growing technology

All variants up to number 07 are suitable here, usually the optimal - variant 05 (fastening in the facade panel AND behind the lying lattice) is to be preferred. In the case of plastered panels, the position of the wooden supports, or the like, must be known (grid dimension, eg 62.5 cm or 125 cm) or be explored first. In any case of doubt, at each drill point, a further smaller oblique diameter (left, right, top and bottom) should ensure that the center of the supports lying under the facade cladding and not a sensitive edge area have been gripped.
