Examples of Bamboo Trellises

Bamboo canes (rods) are quick, easy, and effective-- whether it is to palisade a plant against a wall, to allow it to rise from its pot, or to make a floral obelisk as a free-standing trellis in the garden. We sell both pre-made bamboo trellises and the components to make your own. The resilience of bamboo grids is determined by the ground they are in contact with and the moisture levels: when in contact with soil, bamboo canes will last 5 to 6 years; dry -- they'll last easily 15 years or more. You will find photo examples of bamboo trellises on this page, as well as general information.

Which plants can a bamboo trellis be used for?

Bamboo grids are particularly suited to smaller climbing plants, like clematis and all kinds of annual long-flowering climbers. A bamboo trellis can be used for any kind of plant if it is solid enough - especially potted plants on balconies and terraces.

Mounting the trellis to a wall

For large trellises with thick bamboo rods, see our selection of wooden trellis mounts. For smaller trellises, choose a screw, small bolt, or wall hook and hang the trellis on the protruding fixture with a piece of elastic cord.
