Synthetic green spaces

Artificial turf from sports pitches is now available for building façades too! So-called ‘green walls’ have a lot going for them: they’re completely flexible, can be adapted to any shape, come in a range of green shades, are low-maintenance and affordable. If you don’t need real plants, you’ll love them!

For indoor and outdoor use

Artificial greenery is usually referred to as “moss walls” or “artificial hedges”. These products are primarily designed for indoor use, but are also available for outdoor use. Prior to 2020, there was a period of experimentation with walls made of real, living moss. Chunks of moss were clamped into metal or plastic frames, attached to façades and moistened from behind via a watering system. This allowed them to thrive, purify the air and absorb sound. There were also concepts that relied on mosses colonising wall surfaces prepared for this purpose, similar to some thermal insulation materials from the 1990s that developed unwanted moss growth.
